Services

Group Hike

$40/Day

This is the most popular service and often fills up fast. Not only do the dogs get picked up for a smooth car ride with all of their friends, but they get outside to one of the areas local trails for a one hour hike through the woods. This service is conducted in a way that covers every aspect of the formula for a balanced dog: Exercise, Discipline and Love. Dogs spend time both on and off leash while keeping the overall theme of the experience calm yet fulfilling. They can run, sniff, swim and play. We integrate training through practicing recall and impulse control.

It is asked that participating dogs demonstrate good recall skills, behave well off-leash and play well with other dogs.

Neighborhood Walk

$30/30 Minute Walk

A neighborhood walk allows your dog to go out and explore their own territory and catch up on all the latest smells. Whether you work from home and just want to enjoy your lunch break or you are gone all day and your pup needs a mid-day pick me up, this gives every dog something to look forward to. Great for those dogs who might be a little too old to go on the hike. We structure the walks to discourage pulling and encourage engagement and loose-leash walking.

Home Stay

$100/Day

Your pet is already upset that you're not home, so allow them to stay home with the smell of you, and a Good Company caretaker. Don't send them somewhere they have never been. Boarding facilities often crate dogs for hours on end and leave them to sleep alone in a pit of other anxious dogs. With Good Company, dogs are sure to receive plenty of love, snuggles, nourishment, exercise and walks throughout the entirety of your absence. We do our best to replicate the schedule they are already used to. We are happy to bring in the mail and water the plants too. You can relax knowing your home and pets are both in great care.

Training
Empowering Humans To Lead Their Dogs With Confidence

Good Company Dogs offers a style of training unlike other obedience based trainers. The difference between other styles of training and the balanced relationship based training that we offer is that we focus on the relationship between you and your dog and the roles each of you play. Every Successful relationship is routed in clear communication so we will teach you how to effectively communicate with your dog in THEIR language rather than relentlessly trying to get them to understand your commands. We focus on dog behavior and psychology first and obedience second.

Training from a dog psychology perspective focuses on the dogs state of mind. Having a calm, balanced and happy dog is a crucial step in getting that perfect obedience and respect that you want from your dog. It all starts with training the human to understand how dogs think, act, communicate and perceive the human world they live in. Once we get you familiar with this, you can truly fulfill your dogs needs in a healthy and meaningful way and watch so many of your dogs undesired behaviors just fade away. How can we expect a dog to trust, respect and love us if we do not even understand them?

Most trainers rarely bring up the role of Leadership when working with clients, even though it is one of the most important aspects of owning a dog. Most dogs believe they are in the leadership role within your family, and most humans believe they are their dogs leader. So who is really driving the bus?

Does your dog pull you on leash with their noses to the ground?

Does your dog often bark at the door, windows or at the edge of the yard at people and trucks going by?

Do you have to bribe your dog with food to get them to listen to you?

Does your dog go nuts when they see another dog by barking and lunging in an overly excited or seemingly aggressive way?

If you answered “Yes” to any of these- I am sorry to tell you: your dog thinks they are driving the bus.

Good Company Dogs want to put you back in the drivers seat and set you up to be the leader your dog needs you to be. This will allow them to relax into their natural position as a follower. Dogs do not want to be the leader, it is in their nature to follow.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could walk down the road with your engaged dog right at your side? Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to take your dog on more adventures without the fear of them losing their cool in public? Imagine your dog calmly basking in the yard while fed ex trucks and other dogs just go right by your home. Imagine your dog eager to please you and listen to your commands without the need for treats. This can be your reality. Regardless of how many other trainers you have seen, or the narrative you have that “thats just who my dog is.” We can rewrite a whole new narrative that is more rewarding for both you and your dog.

With an understanding of Dog Psychology and consistent application- the world for you and your dog will get infinitely bigger.

After training with Good Company Dogs you will have a clear understanding of how to:

◦ Effectively Communicate with your dog

◦ Master the on Leash Walk

◦ Lead your dog in public spaces

◦ Properly introduce your dog to other dogs

◦ Enforce and Nurture a calm mind state.

You will feel a sense of freedom in the ability to go to new places and do new things with your dog. You will feel relief knowing there is a solution to every problem. You will feel empowered and confident! Back in the Drivers Seat and ready to go show off how well behaved your dog is.
